*We had our FIFTH "Breakfast with Books" on Thursday, February 13, 2020.
*Sally J. Pla has been our mentor for the "Kids Need Mentors" Program.
*This has been such a valuable and rewarding experience.
*During February, we read her novel Stanley Will Probably Be Fine as our fifth "Breakfast with Books" book club selection.
*We also have been sharing her first novel The Someday Birds as our class read aloud.
*The cool part is that we have been able to interact with her via email and Skype during the reading of both novels.
*This morning we wrapped up the reading experience of Stanley Will Probably Be Fine by gathering in. our classroom, enjoying breakfast treats and Skyping with the author herself.
*Sally was wonderful and awoke bright and early San Diego time which was 6:30 AM. Now that is dedication!!!
*The readers had the chance to share their comments and ask questions about Sally's second novel.
*The time went by so quickly, we had so much fun, and learned more about the life of a writer...
