Broken Country by Clare Leslie Hall

How I Came Across It... *This seemed to be one of the "hot" books for winter 2025. I saw it everywhere. I listened to it via Audible and could see why everyone was raving about it. I so enjoyed the story. What It's About - Five Things You Need to Know... *First, Beth and Gabriel, fall in love when they were teenagers. Teenage love doesn't always last.

*Beth marries Frank and they build a beautiful life together.

*When Gabriel moves back, with a son, Beth finds her past and future colliding.

*After some poor choices on the account of some of the characters, everyone's life is changed in dramatic ways.

*Each character learns that secrets don't always remain a secret.

What I Thought of It - Five Observations/Reflections... *Great, enjoyable, and satisfying read.

*The characters were real, full of story, and lots of heart.

*I was surprised how real the author made the characters, but I appreciated that she showed all sides of the human spirit, both the good and the ugly.

*There was not only great character development, but also a plot that kept me interested and engaged.

*The conclusion was intense, satisfying, and brought the entire story together.

Who Should Read It... *This is the type of novel that will appeal to all adult readers. There is something in the story for everyone. I quite enjoyed all the Clare Leslie Hall gave to her audience. Happy Reading! Rating... 5 out of 5 stars
