How I Heard About It:
*I have been noticing this new middle-grade title popping up all over the place. After watching a video by @colbysharp RAVING about this novel, I knew I had to get a copy. After going to our local bookstore, I dug in to see what all the praise about Hummingbird was about.
What It Is About - FIVE Things You Need to Know:
*Olive is twelve years old and has spent her life in a wheelchair due to her osteogenesis imperfecta - brittle bone disease.
*Up until this point, she has been homeschooled, but her dream is to attend the local middle-school with the rest of the kids her age.
*After a lot of "begging", Olive's parents agree she can begin her sixth grade year at a real and true-blue school; just like everyone else.
*One of her biggest hopes is to finally meet her BFF which she has dreamed of forever.
*When feathers dropping from the sky, and news of a magical hummingbird on its way to town, Olive and her classmates join forces to reveal the true magic in hopes of having all their wishes come true.
