In An Instant by Suzanne Redfearn

H
ow I Heard About It:
*A friend, fellow reader, and co-worker mentioned this title to me during one of our many conversations about books.  I was in the market for a new audio novel so downloaded it via Audible and have been listening over the last couple of weeks.

What It Is About - FIVE Things You Need to Know:
*Sixteen year old Finn tells the story of a horrific accident that affected both her family and several other people.

*When their car goes over a cliff during a cold and wintery night, many people are stranded alone, hungry, and getting colder by the minute.

*Each person involved in the tragic accident, must make some incredibly difficult decisions.

*Some people make a choice that will positively effect everyone, while others only think of themselves which lead to some negative outcomes.

*Finn shares her heartache, thoughts, and feelings while describing the events before and after an event that changes the lives of many "in an instant".

What I Thought Of It - Five Observations/Reflections:
*The start-up was a bit slow and confusing, but once I got into the story things picked up and my interest grew.

*The story being told from Finn's point of view was quite interesting and unique.

*There were some definite tragic moments, and I was cringing at some of the decisions being made.

*The cast of characters were awesome and included both protagonists and antagonists.

*The themes of family, life choices, and consequences for our actions came through and gave me a lot to think about.

Who Should Read It:
*I believe this would make for a wonderful and satisfying read for any adult reader.  The characters, setting, and plot are appealing.  Happy Reading!
