It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

This is my first post for "It's Monday!  What Are You Reading?"  I have so enjoyed following the other bloggers to see what they were reading each week.  Thanks to Jen and Kellee for hosting this idea on their site.  Here is a link to their site...

Books I Read This Past Week...

Chained by Lynne Kelly (4 out of 5 Stars)
Letters to Leo by Amy Hest (3 out of 5 Stars)

*I didn't get as much reading done as I would have liked.  My family and I traveled to Colorado to visit some great friends.  We also did a couple of college visits for my daughter.  She will be a senior this year.  We went to University of Nebraska and University of Kansas.  It will be so fun to see where she will end up.

Books I Will Read This Coming Week...

Laugh With The Moon by Shana Burg
The Sandcastle Girls by Chris Bohjalian (Adult Book)

*My wife are going to Mexico on Wednesday.  She won a free trip.  I plan on downloading several adult books (grown-up books) on my Ipad.  I'm not sure exactly what those titles will be, but I will add them next week.

The First WONDERFUL Book Trailer

This summer I was also introduced to book trailers.  Thanks Mr. Schu!

Dedicated to Wonder

When thinking of what I wanted to post first, it was a pretty easy decision.

This has been an incredible summer for me.  In June I entered the world of Twitter and my professional life has forever been changed.

It has been WONDERFUL connecting with so many other teachers and educators.

This last school year I introduced the book Wonder by R.J. Palacio.  It was one of our "Breakfast with Books" book club selections.  I will blog about "Breakfast with Books" in the future.  The book became one of our favorite books.

As I got to know the Twitter world, it became apparent that many people were in awe of the book.  As they like to call it "TheWonderofWonder."

Last night I participated in a Twitter book club about Wonder.  It was another WONDERFUL moment for me.

I had been tossing the idea around of starting a blog after looking at, reading, and poking around so many blogs from educators around the country.

When the Twitter book club wrapped up, I knew it was time to jump into the world of blogging.

I know it will become a WONDER in my life and my career.

So in honor of my new blog, I dedicate it to the book Wonder and to all the wonderful teachers on Twitter and all the others I haven't met yet, but I know are out there...

Auggie from Wonder and all of you are truly an inspiration to me!

The Beginning

Today is the day I venture into the world of blogging.  We shall see where it takes me...
