*I was ready for a new audio novel and wanted to take a break from my middle-grade reading. I had seen this title "buzzed" about on different social media platforms and decided to give it a try.
What It Is About - FIVE Things You Need to Know:
*Tate is a young women who is a bit down on her luck so she moves in with her brother, who is a pilot.
*Miles is the neighbor to Tate's brother and is also an airline pilot.
*When Tate and Miles meet, there is an instant connection.
*As Tate tries to get close to Miles, she realizes there is something from his past keeping him at bay.
*They agree to have a sexual relationship, but that is where it ends. As time goes on, they both realize that was easier said than done.
What I Thought Of It - Five Observations/Reflections:
*As I began to listen to the story, I was immediately engaged and taken in by the story.
*There was nothing earth-shattering and/or too deep about the plot, but it was interesting.
*I did get a bit tired of the "sex scenes" and it felt a bit like "Fifty Shades of Grey."
*The story went back and forth between present day with Miles and Tate to six years earlier with Tate and Rachel. This was a very interesting part of the story.
*As the story unfolded, there was a quite a bit of emotional heartbreak and devastation that involved Miles and gave the reader an insight to why he set up the "rules" with Tate.
Who Should Read It:
*If you are looking for a "page-turner", this would be the novel for you. The plot moves along at a quick pace, the characters are intriguing, and there are a couple shocking moments. Happy Reading!
