Wonder Wednesday - Authors and Readers
*On Thursday, September 26th, our fourth grade class had our first "author Skype" of the year.
*This year I'm participating in the the "Kids Need Mentors" program.
*I was thrilled to be paired with Sally J. Play.
*The day before our Skype visit, I shared Sally's picture book with my students. The book is called Benji, the Bad Day, and Me. We had a great discussion about the story and how it might relate to Sally's life.
*The fourth graders got the chance to ask Sally questions about the book, her writing, and even her life.
*Sally was fun, exciting, and had such great energy with the class.
*We are excited to work with Sally throughout the year talking about reading, writing, and all sorts of other elements about readers and writers.
