Friend Friday #190 (Ms. Bixby's Last Day by John David Anderson) - LAST One for 2016/2017

Hi!  We are Mr. Andrus' Fourth Graders and we read the book called Ms. Bixby's Last Day by John David Anderson.

We thought this book was outstanding
because it had a great adventure of three boys trying to get to see their teacher.  It had funny parts and sad parts.

Our favorite part in the story was when the boys were at the bookstore and found the shark toilet because this was a funny part and we had never heard of a shark toilet before.

The character that we liked best was Ms. Bixby because she was such a great teacher that the three boys risked so much in order to go see her.  She cared a lot about her students.  She even took one to the grocery store each week.

We think the author wrote this book because he wanted to show how much impact a teacher can have on her students.  He also wanted to show how to get through tough times in life.

We would recommend this book to our friends because they would enjoy the funny parts, enjoy the adventure of the trip, and also really like the teacher Ms. Bixby.

Reading to us is pure pleasure because we can pick out books that we want to read and escape into other worlds.  We also like being read to and Mr. Andrus picked out great books to read to us this year.

*Since this is my last Friend Friday post for the 2016/2017 school year, I thought we would do it together as a class.

*This was our class read aloud and we finished on Wednesday, May 24th.  We had the opportunity to Skype with the author the next day.

*It was so much FUN to talk with John David Anderson about this novel and his life as a writer.

*The Friend Friday posts will be back in the fall of 2017!!!
